About

A readers reaction to In Heaven for Awhile from national award winning Broadcaster Chuck Southcott:

No matter what one’s thoughts of Heaven might be, including those people of strong faith, no faith, agnostic or atheist, a common and very human denominator remains – the universal question of the afterlife.  Is there such a thing as heaven, and if so, what exactly is it?  A paradise?  A lovely way  to spend eternity?  A place to meet loving family members and long-lost friends?

Larry Vanderveen, in his book “In Heaven For a While” has presented, in a fascinating story, a unique and exciting possibility.  Complete with elements of science fiction and a touch of believable fantasy, we are treated to a vision of another dimension.  “In Heaven For a While” offers a thought-provoking read, complete with very human back stories well worth consideration.

So, what about that other world we call Heaven? What is it like? What can we expect? This book is a work of fiction of course, but it’s also a look at what I’d like my Heaven to be.

This is a quick summary of the story :

Jim Bentley is a high school astronomy teacher in Los Angeles. He lives alone and lonely. Then one day all that changes. He finds that he is needed. There are people in his life who have worse problems than his, and they can’t solve them. It turns out that the best place to help them from is Heaven, a place he doesn’t believe exists, until he finds he’s right in the middle of it.

The novel is now available on Amazon in both Kindle reader and Paperback. To read just the first chapter go to the menu bar at the top of the page. Here’s the Amazon link:
